Oil
booms and skimmers use diesel engine and hydraulic oil, which requires
regular maintenance. An oil boom is usually stored on its boom reel and
air-inflated in use. So, it has a diesel air blower, too. For immediate
use, PAJ has provided regular maintenance on such equipment, monthly
and bi-annually.
1. Monthly maintenance
(1) Oil boom
*Confirm initial performance of power pack and blower
*Check appearance of the boom
*Check battery and other attachments
(2) Oil skimmer
*Confirm initial performance of power pack
*Check appearance of the skimmer
*Check battery and other attachments

About a half day without using heavy machines.
2. Bi-annual maintenance
(1) Oil boom
*Confirm initial performance of power pack and blower
*Check all of boom sections (full deployment)
*Check battery and other attachments
(2) Oil skimmer
*Confirm initial performance of power pack
*Check recovery capabilities of the skimmer (operate in a small pool, etc.)
*Check battery and other attachments
